Invitation Inspiration

I think invites might be the DIY project that I am most looking forward to. So of course even before I was engaged I started searching for invitation inspiration.

I love the idea of a pocket-fold invitation.

The down side of the pocket-fold is that it seems like it would be time consuming and the postage would probably be astronomical. So moving on...

This is what I call the cardstock invite.

The down side to this type of invite is that it seems boring and plain. There's just not enough "bling" with this type of invitation. The upside is that postage would be reasonable.

And then I found this:

It's perfect! This is exactly what I was looking for. It's simple, but creative and elegant.

I would change the colors obviously. I also want to enlist my mister to draw some cedar trees (like the ones on the venue property) on the front page. He's a really good artist, although he doesn't draw much anymore. I really hope I can convince him because it'd be the perfect touch to an already awesome invite.

I love the idea of including a response card that just has a phone and email address on it. I am planning to have people RSVP online to cut down costs. Most of our family and friends are internet savvy so it shouldn't be a problem.

What do you guys think of my invitation inspiration? Did you DIY your invites and if so, were you most excited about this project over all others?

  2. I like this design a lot! I just started looking at invites and am also trying to compromise between reasonable postage and non-boring designs.
