A Candy Table Twist

Let me start by saying that since I discovered the concept of a candy table I have been mesmorized.

I mean, what's not to love about an entire table filled with candy? I know a lot of brides are using candy tables as favors for their guests. I've got other ideas for my favors, however. (More on that later.)

But I just have to incorporate candy into my wedding day somehow. Both me and my mister love, love, love candy so it will be there!

Ok, now I'm going to digress for a minute, but I promise I'll come back. Last week I ran across a picture on Weddingbee that Mrs. Green Tea had posted from a shower she threw.

Umm...hello? Brilliant! I knew I had to do this for my table numbers. I had been waiting for the perfect inspiration to come along. So I ran out and bought wooden numbers and painted half them in bright yellow and half in dark blue (our wedding colors of course.)

I already have containers to display the numbers in:

I borrowed these from Co-MOH, Leesa. She used them at her wedding in 2008. But after some thought, I decided plain white sugar just didn't make sense. So I started thinking, what could I use instead of sugar to hold the numbers up?

Aha! (This is where I connect things :) ) Candy! Actually before candy popped into my head, Lemonheads did. It's a delicious sour candy they sell at movie theaters. Then I thought, why stop there? I can used yellow and blue gummy bears. Yellow Runt bananas. Vanilla Tootsie Rolls (they're wrapped in blue paper). Yellow and blue M&Ms. Yellow and blue Jelly Bellys.

So I am now embarking on the adventure of creating awesome table number/candy/table centerpieces. Wish me luck. I promise you pictures once I acquire all the necessary equipment, i.e. candy. Yum!

Have you come up with any ideas by combining existing ideas you seen from other weddings? What did your table numbers/centerpieces look like and how did you come up with them?
