We had a great experience. The girl that helped us was quick and gave us some catalogs to look at while she entered our info into the computer to set up our registry. We were excited to get started.
However, as soon as we left her little office we were overwhelmed by the sheer volume of product in that store. It's freakin' huge! So little ole' organizer me decided we should start in the kitchen section and just go from there. One step at a time.
Here's the mister scanning some plastic storage containers. Don't mind the sleepy look. It was a long week and he was hungry.It was actually kinda fun once we loosened up and coped with the fact that we just had to scan everything we wanted. We both struggled with feeling a bit greedy scanning anything and everything but the lady told us we needed to have two times the amount of items on our registry as invites we plan to send out. That means roughly 140 items. Eek! I think we currently have 50-something items on there. Only 90 more to go!
We only made it through the kitchen department though. We got hungry and tired so headed across the parking lot to TGI Fridays for some sustenance. But we're gonna head back soon to conquer the rest of the store.
BB & B is so good they even called a week later because they noticed we'd only done half the store. They were concerned that maybe we needed help with colors and designs in the bedding and drapery section. How sweet!
We haven't decided if we'll register a second place yet or not. I feel like we can find everything at one place, but maybe we should for more variety.
Did you have fun registering? Did you feel greedy? How many places are you registering?
We registered 2 places and it took FOREVER...I had the worst headache when we left! Once we got home and I looked it up online I got SO excited to know that we will be getting some new things for our house.
ReplyDeleteI too struggled with registering...it's so freaking overwhelming! So much to think about, gah. We started both of our registries together (Boston Store & Crate and Barrel), and I will go back alone closer to my shower to finish them off.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good experience at BB&B. We're going there this weekend to start our first registry. I think we'll register at maybe 1 or 2 other stores but we haven't decided yet.

ReplyDeleteI was so overwhelmed with registering. I found it was helpful to do it in chunks. We registered at BB&B and Pottery Barn. It took two trips to BB&B to get through the whole store We were exhausted haha! I have loved being able to add & delete things online.

ReplyDeleteWe had fun registering and like you we felt guilty too! We didn't realize how much we added till the end and boy was there some sticker shock for me...of course the FI was in charge of the gun so there were some interesting things on there.
