Pictures, Pictures, Pictures!

I surely do love me some pictures.

As ya'll know by now we've got an amazing photographer, Nathan Russell, booked to shoot our wedding day. However, he's only one man and he simply can't be everywhere all at the same time that night. I'm hoping that all my camera-happy friends (you know who you are) will be there to get lots of candids of the reception and ceremony.

Now comes the question, how do I collect said photos from my many "photographers"? The last couple weddings I've attended, the couples have had little cards sitting out for guests to take telling them where to find the wedding pictures online. These cards I've seen have only pertained to the pro shots, but I want mine to include all pictures.

Enter, good ole Shutterfly.com. You can create a little website/share site where people can upload and order photos from a specific event. It's perfect. I jumped right in and created a simple page for guests to use.

All that was left to do was figure out how to let people know that the share site exists. Enter trusty photo card. I used one of our engagement pics, added some background and text in Paint.net and ordered 80 prints from Shutterfly.

They came in the mail today and they're perfect! I plan on uploading all the pro pics on to the share site once I receive them as well. I love technology. It's so easy to share with people that don't live right down the street.

How are you sharing photos of your special day? Are you just counting on pro shots or do you think friends and family will have some valuable pictures too?

  1. Hey! I just found your wedding blog and can't wait to read it up until your big day. I just started writing a wedding blog myself for my upcoming wedding on April 30, 2011. I still have a ways to go but I am very excited to get new ideas by reading your blog!

  2. That's a great idea! We hadn't come up with a plan yet.. maybe facebook... but I love the idea of giving the guests one central place like shutterfly!
